Sounds Modern

Before Sounds Modern, there was ACME

From 2004-2007, Atomic Clock Music Events collaborated with artists and arts venues to celebrate the cutting edge of living music, bringing underrepresented musical voices to Denver and Boulder area audiences. ACME's primary venue was the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, where Artistic Director Brandi Mathis hosted some of our most exciting events. ACME was a Colorado non-profit corporation, with 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship through the Boulder County Arts Alliance.

ACME's co-directors moved to Denton, Texas to join the faculty of the University of North Texas College of Music in Fall 2005. ACME's activities continue in the Sounds Modern series at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas, where we began presenting concerts in 2007. We miss our friends in Colorado and we invite y'all to visit North Texas and hear art like you've never heard it!
